All the numbers from Santiago

                                           Will The Way increase pilgrim numbers?

There has been much speculation about the extent to which the film The Way will affect the number of pilgrims walking to Santiago. In the Pilgrims' Office we are meeting an increased number of people who say that seeing the film inspired them to make their pilgrimage. Numbers are up for pilgrims from English speaking countries. But it is a little early to tell whether the level of increase is any more than it would normally be. Here is an analysis of the number of pilgrims arriving in the first three months of the last 4 years so you can compare. Below this is the full analysis of pilgrims who have arrived in the first three months of 2012.
