Humans all over the world must have known this instinctively from time immemorial,as evidenced by the universality of pilgrimage. Who knows. Maybe the malaise of modern civilization is simply caused by a lack of walking! (And lack of the sunshine vitamin, too.) Very interesting post, Johnnie.
